How a forex trade works.
Lots and pips
One standard lot is 100,000 units of the first currency. A pip is the fourth decimal of the price, or the second on yen pairs.
Margin and leverage
Leverage lets you open a larger position with a smaller deposit. It grows losses in the same proportion as profits.
Overnight positions
Positions kept open overnight can be credited or charged a swap, shown for each pair in MetaTrader 5.
